“Volunteers are always helpful and pleasant – thanks to all!”
From the outset, the Centre has directed attention to gaps identified by the citizens of Saanich Peninsula. By carefully listening to those served by the Centre, a tapestry of activity is created that has led to enduring connections that has built our community spirit. Capacity building is essential to the sustainability of the Mount Newton Centre Society. Developing connections has strengthened our ability to serve but also to thrive over the last 38 years in a fast changing rural setting.
Since, 1978, the Mount Newton Centre’s programs and services have been designed, developed and delivered by the Mount Newton Centre Society to complement existing community programs.
The Adult Day Program is the only Centre program receiving partial funding from governmental sources through Island Health. However, all Mount Newton Centre programs could not function without the significant support provided by the generous financial donations of the members of the community of Saanich Peninsula.
Volunteers are critical to the Centre’s well-being. The Mount Newton Centre Society is a registered non-profit organization, guided by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Other volunteers assist us day-to-day in providing a wonderful experience to our clients, whether they help in the kitchen, the Loan Cupboard, or the grounds. Our special events are also dependent upon volunteers for their continued success.
Donations to the Mount Newton Centre are critical, and have kept the Centre running for nearly 40 years. Partial funding from government sources, through Island Health, is allocated to our Adult Day Program only. Meeting the financial needs of all our programs completely relies on the generosity and support of individuals, businesses and organizations in the community. Generous donations have built up the essential inventory of our Loan Cupboard, purchased our transport vehicles, and keep them running safely. As well, donors have provided supplies, the furniture, new roofing, flooring, and repainting of the Centre’s buildings.
All donations are income tax deductible, and we provide charitable receipts. We accept cash, cheques, debt and credit cards. If giving by cheque, please make it payable to Mount Newton Centre Society – our Charitable Organization Number is 10772 7281RR 0001
MOUNT NEWTON CENTRE SINCERELY APPRECIATES ALL YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT
