Full Time Position, LPN or RN Coordinator for Mount Newton Centre

The LPN or RN Coordinator is responsible for the day to day running of the Adult Day Program and Bathing Programs from Monday to Friday.  The coordinator oversees the staff working with clients in the Adult Day Program and is the liaison between clients, family, Case Managers and Physicians.  Applicant must either be a LPN or RN and have experience in gerontology and team leading.  Salary is negotiable.

Full Time Position, Health Care Assistant for Adult Day Program

Monday to Friday, 27.5 – 37.5 hours per week. Competitive hourly wage.

Under the direction of a LPN or RN, and in accordance with our clients’ abilities, needs and interests, our staff assist with:

  • Preparation/set-up and clean-up of the Adult Day Program
  • Transportation to and from the Centre (by Centre-owned vehicles)
  • Activities of daily living (social engagement, serving refreshments and lunch)
  • Personal care (toileting and bathing-when applicable)
  • Client’s physical, health, social, and emotional requirements (safety, seated exercises, social engagement, redirection, facilitation of appropriate games and activities to client groups)

Qualifications Required:

  • Certification of Health Care Assistant Program
  • Certificates in First Aid & Food Safe
  • Valid Class V Driver’s License (no restrictions)
  • Recent related experience of one year or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must possess a Registration number from the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
  • Must be in good health, free from any communicable diseases
  • Recent Criminal Record Check
  • TB Skin Test & Chest X-Ray if known to be a strong positive reaction
  • Must be physically and mentally able to carry out assigned duties in the working environment (including, but not limited to, daily cleaning, light lifting of equipment, transferring clients, toileting clients and assisting clients to board our bus).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to observe, recognize and report changes in conditions of the clients
  • Ability to operate work related equipment
  • Willingness and ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
  • Willingness to be flexible with tasks as needed
